Raised Height Single-Flush Push Button Option

The raised height single-flush push button can be of significant assistance to users with limited dexterity or reduced hand strength. The button protrudes approximately 35mm above the cistern lid, allowing the WC to be flushed using the hand, forearm, elbow, or similar, with minimal pressure required.

This design offers a practical advantage over standard flush buttons, which typically sit almost flush with the cistern lid and require more precise, direct & focused operation. Such flat-profile buttons can be difficult to use for individuals with weakness in the hands, restricted movement, or reduced coordination.

The cistern is fitted with a WRAS-approved flush valve, which can be removed for cleaning, maintenance, or replacement if required. This can be carried out without draining the cistern or isolating the water supply, although isolating the supply is always recommended as best practice prior to any maintenance work.

Important note:

While this raised push-button design offers improved usability for many users, there remains some variation in interpretation regarding the acceptability of push-button operation within Approved Document M guidance. Where strict Doc M compliance is required, confirmation should be sought from the project specifier or local Building Control Officer prior to installation.

Spatula Lever Flush Handle Option

The spatula lever flush handle provides a more traditional and widely recognised solution for accessible WC installations. Its distinctive spatula-style design offers a significantly larger contact surface than standard flush levers, making operation easier and more controlled.

The lever incorporates a subtle raised bevel edge, which helps reduce the risk of hand slippage during use. This feature is particularly beneficial for users with reduced grip strength, hand or wrist weakness, or limited dexterity, allowing the WC to be flushed using the hand, wrist, or forearm with minimal effort.

For dependable long-term performance, the cistern is fitted with a WRAS-approved Thomas Dudley Ltd siphon, ensuring reliable flushing and ease of maintenance across both domestic and commercial environments.
