The Everest XXL toilet has been specifically designed for larger and bariatric users, delivering a significantly higher level of comfort, dignity and safety than standard WC options. Its market-leading bowl width and reinforced construction make it one of the widest and most comfortable close-coupled toilets available in the UK, well suited to care homes, healthcare environments, NHS installations and local authority-funded adaptations, including Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) projects.
One of the most frequently reported challenges for larger users is lack of space when toileting. Standard WC designs often restrict movement, compromise comfort and increase the risk of instability. Until relatively recently, suitable alternatives for larger builds were extremely limited.
To put this into context, a typical standard WC has a pan height (without seat) of approximately 390mm, with an average bowl width of 355–360mm. By comparison, the Everest XXL offers a pan height of 413mm (438mm with seat fitted) and a substantial bowl width of 420mm, providing markedly improved comfort, lateral support and user confidence.
The toilet has been engineered with additional structural reinforcement in all key load-bearing areas. When fitted with its dedicated seat, the Everest XXL is rated to safely support user weights up to 400kg. Where higher capacities may be required, the toilet can accommodate greater loads without the seat fitted, although professional assessment by an Occupational Therapist or healthcare professional is strongly recommended before considering this option.
The Everest XXL conforms to relevant British and European Standards, including:
Designed as a flush-to-wall installation, both the pan and cistern sit neatly against the wall, eliminating visible gaps and reducing dust and dirt traps. The smooth, rounded external surfaces support high-hygiene cleaning regimes, making the toilet particularly suitable for healthcare and institutional settings.
(Please note: this model is not suitable for side-waste connections.)
The toilet is supplied as standard with a dual-flush push-button cistern offering 4 and 6 litre flush options. For users with reduced dexterity, the Everest XXL is also available with a raised-height single-flush push button (6 litre flush). This optional feature is supplied at an additional cost and typically carries a 7–10 day lead time — please contact our service team for details.
The Everest XXL is supplied complete with a dedicated D-shaped wrap-over seat, commissioned specifically for this model. The seat is exceptionally robust, weighing 3.3kg, and is manufactured from high-quality Duroplast. Specification highlights include:
This seat design contributes significantly to user safety, longevity and overall performance in demanding environments.
